The HP deskjet 2050 printer has some of the best features found in domestic printers, and can take on copying, scanning and printing tasks.
The only disadvantage of this particular model is the page yield of their ink cartridges. Unfortunately, they work with HP 122 ink cartridges, which produce very few sheets and aren’t the easiest one to refill.
If you wish to learn more about them, please read our post regarding the true secret behind the HP 122 ink cartridges. Restoring them will help them get back to work.
Restoring a printer means making it work with its original factory settings again, solving most problems that may show up on it. In some cases, your computer could even understand a new printer is being installed, so this apparently printer will be called exactly the same as it used to, but with the words “copy 1” at the very end.
First, disconnect the printer’s USB cable. Keep in mind the power cord must stay plugged in, so please don’t remove it from the printer. The next picture will let you know where this USB cable is located.
Step #2:
Then, make sure your printer is turned on, and then press both the copy and the cancel buttons simultaneously. Please take a look at the following picture, and remember to leave your printer on until we say the contrary.
Step #3:
While keeping the cancel and color copy buttons pressed down, disconnect the printer’s power cord and attach it back to it almost immediately. Please take a look at the following printer to locate this power cable on your HP printer.
Step #4:
You will notice the printer will try to work, but it will turn itself off suddenly. After this has happened, you’ll be able to release both the cancel and the color copy buttons you were pressing. The previous pictures will show you what these look like.
Step #5:
Once this process has been done, try turning your printer on by pressing the on/off button, as you would normally do. The printer should now be fully restored. If you need help with a special case, don’t hesitate in contacting us by leaving a comment in the section below this post. We will gladly get back to you.
