These are very common situations, so our printer’s drivers are usually misplaced, regardless of the brand or model. This also happens with HP, one of the most sold brand in Latin America -this is not official data- because of their low prices and high quality.
These printers’ drivers get lost all the time, and some people are forced to call a technician to have them installed. Obviously, this involves spending a bit of money, but we’ve created this post to help you download and install the drivers on any printer.

Before we start looking for our HP drivers set, we need to know exactly what printer model we’re using. You can learn how to do this by reading the following post, although it’s usually engraved in the front of the printer.
Knowing what operating system, as well as which particular version of it is installed in our computers, is also very important. If you don’t know yours, please read the following post we’ve created for you.
We will do everything in our power to present each and every step of this download process directly from the HP website. First, you will need a computer with a working Internet connection, as well as having your printer turned on and connected to the computer at all times, whether it’s attached via USB cable or wifi network. The main step to download these drivers directly from the manufacturer’s official website, HP in your case, is to access it from your computer. After the page has opened and loaded completely, please click on the drivers and software option. A small window will appear on your screen, and you will be asked to type in your printer model. Please take a look at the following image.
Most printer manufacturer websites are made to help the clients, and the HP is no exception to this rule. They’ve made it much easier for the users to find their drivers just by typing their printer model, which makes the search process much quicker and more precise. Please look at the next picture.
After this new window has opened, you must choose your printer’s model from the list. If you don’t know what’s yours, please read the following post regarding how to properly identify yours. Please look at the next image.
Once you’ve written your own printer’s model, press enter on your keyboard or click on search. Some results will show up immediately, divided in two categories: 1) the primary results that coincide with your terms, and 2) the secondary results, which are not as related to your search as the primary ones.

After selecting the one result that fits your needs the best, please click on it to move forward with the download. We will now be taken to another site, where you will have to choose the operating system we want the drivers to be compatible with. You will also need to select a language at this point.
We’ve, of course, selected Spanish, but you can choose whatever language you’re most comfortable with. The language you choose now will be the one the printer will work in from now on. In our computer, the drivers are in Spanish because we used the Spanish version of the HP site to download them.
Now that you’re in a new site, please look at the printer depicted in it. This will help you identify if these drivers are meant to be used on the printer you chose and wish to install them in. If the picture doesn’t look exactly like the one you own, go back to the last page. There you can either make another search and/or choose a different result. The next image will show you all the results we got on the website.
After all the drivers available for different operating systems have loaded, and we’ve selected the language we want them in, please select your own operating system and continue with the download process. Take a look at the following picture, which will show you the window where you must choose your own operating system.
In case your operating system doesn’t appear on this list, we recommend you download the drivers for windowsxp on your computer, look them up on “computer”, decompress and install them accordingly. We also recommend you read the following post.
After selecting the operating system installed in your computer, you will go to another page where you’ll find all the drivers that HP has created for this particular operating system.
In this site, you’ll be able to find an entire section of HP applications and drivers. There you must enter the drivers area and look for the proper set for your printer.
You must be very careful when selecting the drivers, since some of them don’t involve printing tasks. This is why we suggest you only download files with the word “driver” in them, and to click on the proper download button, as indicated in the following picture.
We also recommend you save this file in your computer’s Desktop when downloading it, just so you can find it very quickly.
