How to download a set of printer drivers from the HP website

Most people aren’t really conservative when it comes to keeping every little thing the printer box brings, and more often than not the original installation CD becomes lost, or can’t be found anywhere. These are very common situations, so our printer’s drivers are usually misplaced, regardless of the brand or model. This also happens with HP, one of the most sold brand in Latin America -this is not official data- because of their low prices and high quality.

These printers’ drivers get lost all the time, and some people are forced to call a technician to have them installed. Obviously, this involves spending a bit of money, but we’ve created this post to help you download and install the drivers on any printer.

Please follow all the steps described ahead in a very strict manner to guarantee the best results and overall functioning. Remember: if you have any issues with the information in this post, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Before we start looking for our HP drivers set, we need to know exactly what printer model we’re using. You can learn how to do this by reading the following post, although it’s usually engraved in the front of the printer.

Knowing what operating system, as well as which particular version of it is installed in our computers, is also very important. If you don’t know yours, please read the following post we’ve created for you.

We will do everything in our power to present each and every step of this download process directly from the HP website. First, you will need a computer with a working Internet connection, as well as having your printer turned on and connected to the computer at all times, whether it’s attached via USB cable or wifi network. The main step to download these drivers directly from the manufacturer’s official website, HP in your case, is to access it from your computer. After the page has opened and loaded completely, please click on the drivers and software option. A small window will appear on your screen, and you will be asked to type in your printer model. Please take a look at the following image.

Most printer manufacturer websites are made to help the clients, and the HP is no exception to this rule. They’ve made it much easier for the users to find their drivers just by typing their printer model, which makes the search process much quicker and more precise. Please look at the next picture.

After this new window has opened, you must choose your printer’s model from the list. If you don’t know what’s yours, please read the following post regarding how to properly identify yours. Please look at the next image.

Once you’ve written your own printer’s model, press enter on your keyboard or click on search. Some results will show up immediately, divided in two categories: 1) the primary results that coincide with your terms, and 2) the secondary results, which are not as related to your search as the primary ones.

The following picture will serve as an example of what happens when you type “laserjet 1100” in this search engine. Please look at the next picture for these particular results.

After selecting the one result that fits your needs the best, please click on it to move forward with the download. We will now be taken to another site, where you will have to choose the operating system we want the drivers to be compatible with. You will also need to select a language at this point.

We’ve, of course, selected Spanish, but you can choose whatever language you’re most comfortable with. The language you choose now will be the one the printer will work in from now on. In our computer, the drivers are in Spanish because we used the Spanish version of the HP site to download them.

Now that you’re in a new site, please look at the printer depicted in it. This will help you identify if these drivers are meant to be used on the printer you chose and wish to install them in. If the picture doesn’t look exactly like the one you own, go back to the last page. There you can either make another search and/or choose a different result. The next image will show you all the results we got on the website.

After all the drivers available for different operating systems have loaded, and we’ve selected the language we want them in, please select your own operating system and continue with the download process. Take a look at the following picture, which will show you the window where you must choose your own operating system.

In case your operating system doesn’t appear on this list, we recommend you download the drivers for windowsxp on your computer, look them up on “computer”, decompress and install them accordingly. We also recommend you read the following post.

After selecting the operating system installed in your computer, you will go to another page where you’ll find all the drivers that HP has created for this particular operating system.

In this site, you’ll be able to find an entire section of HP applications and drivers. There you must enter the drivers area and look for the proper set for your printer.

You must be very careful when selecting the drivers, since some of them don’t involve printing tasks. This is why we suggest you only download files with the word “driver” in them, and to click on the proper download button, as indicated in the following picture.

We also recommend you save this file in your computer’s Desktop when downloading it, just so you can find it very quickly.

How to download drivers for lexmark printers

The brand lexmark has dedicated itself to manufacturing matriarchal, Inkjet and Laser printers since 1991. This company was founded by IBM, the largest computer manufacturer at the time.

Ever since then, lexmark has been known to make printers and printer accessories of the highest quality, which get the highest ratings among their users.

Their multifunction Inkjet, domestic use printers are their most popular model, and were the first printers made with wifi installation. If you’re interested in this topic, please read our post called How to install printers using a wifi network.

In order to deal with this installation process, you will need a couple of things:

1. You must know your lexmark printer model, which you can learn by reading the following post...
2. A working Internet connection wherever you want to download and install these drivers.

3. download the drivers directly from lexmark’s official website. If you can’t find them, then your printer probably wasn’t made for Latin America. Please do not download them from other websites, or do them from sites that redirect you to the official website.
4. Learn what operating system you’re using, since this will affect driver compatibility. If you’re using an OS incompatible with your printer, please read our following post.
5. Your printer must be connected to your computer and turned on throughout the entire installation process.

Steps to downloading lexmark printer drivers:

Step #1:
First of all, access the official lexmark website and wait for the main page to lead; do not use alternative websites to avoid confusion and misunderstanding of this procedure..

Go to the help and downloads section, located on the upper-right side of the main page.

Step #3:
Once you’ve entered this section, your job will be much easier. You must now identify your own printer model on the listing available in this section. It will depend on your printer’s overall functioning and use.

All-in-one printers:

These printers are made for home and business use, and have several different functions in the same device, such as printing, copying, scanning, and sending and receiving faxes.

Color Laser printer:

You can generally find these printers in companies, since their accessories are very expensive and aren’t recommend for common and domestic use. companies and institutions that need colored prints and have the money to maintain this printer will be able to get this particular model.

Domestic use printer:

These printers are usually found in our homes, and have relatively low cost-per-page. This printer will give us good printing quality in a small scale for our own personal use. Also, this printer has a single function: printing. Please select this printer type if this is the one you want to install the drivers on.Normalmente

Monochromatic Laser printer:

This toner printer will produce Laser prints, and is known to be very durable, efficient and hage hig page yield.. However, they’re too expensive for home or small business use.

These are the printer types you’ll see in the Help and downloads section. Please choose your own based on the characteristics and specifications we explained in this post.

Step #4:
Once you’ve chosen your printer type, please look for your printer model on the listing displayed on the website. If you don’t know what it is, please read this following post:

Step #5:
After identifying and selecting our own printer on the list, we will now add our operating system to the equation. In order to identify which specific version we’re using, please follow the following steps:

1. Go the start menu on the computer’s desktop, located on the lower-left side.
2. Click on Computer.
3. Later, click on Properties.
4. Once you’ve read COmputer Properties, you’ll be able to see the version of the OS you’re using on it.

In our own case, we were able to detect windows 7 Ultimate was installed in our computer. If you’re using some other windows version, please download the links comaptible with ti.

Head over to the operating system listing, which will look like this:

Once you’ve selected your OS, please choose the specific version running in your computer from this list:


Step #8:
A new menu will be displayed after you’ve selected both your OS and OS version. If you’re using the lexmark Latin American website, the default language for your drivers will be Spanish. If you don’t wish to download them in Spanish but in another language. Click on the Change Language option and set your own.


Step #9:
Check and confirm all the information you selected on the website, and you can now download the drivers compatible with your OS.

We recommend you read all the suggestions in the bottom of the list, since they may attach some updates and add-ons to your set of drivers. Please click on the proper download link and save them somewhere accessible on your computer, like the desktop.

How to download the drivers for the lexmark X2350 printers

Lexmark printers are known for their great overall functioning and printing quality, as well as the low price on their ink cartridges.

Also, lexmark has created the Ink Cartridge return program, a system that allows the customer to send back empty lexmark ink cartridges back to the company ,and sends the client a new, remanufactured one at a discount price. First, you will have to select the operating system you’re using on your computer.
Then, the specific version of that OS you’re using right now.

If you can’t remember these specifications on your computer, go ahead and download the windowsXP drivers; they will work on windows7 without problems.

How to install a printer on windows8 OS

Windows keep improving the interface on the operating systems, and windows8 is not the exception; this last-generation OS makes things even easier for us. If you’ve already installed a printer on some other OS and want to do it on this one instead, please pay attention the following procedure.

Please remember you can count on us if this procedure doesn’t work out for you. You must only post a comment in the section below this post and we will get back to you with another possible solution.

First of all, let us clear something out: you can install your printer on windows8 by using windows7 printer drivers with compatibility mode.

You can achieve this by clicking on the set of drivers, selecting compatibility options, and then marking the compatibility mode square. In principle, these aren’t compatible with this OS version, but you can still make them work.

If you still can’t find the drivers for your printer model, we recommend you follow the steps in the installation procedure ahead. this installation method will set up a local printer on your computer, attached to it by a USB cable. This particular method can be very helpful, since it will keep update our printers as the same time we update our computers’ database.

Procedure to install a printer on windows 8 OS:

Please keep in mind you must leave your printer and computer on throughout the entire installation process. The must both be on and fully functional. We also recommend you read your printer’s user manual, since manufacturers tend to include important information about installing the printer on different operating systems.

Step #1:

Go all the way to your computer’s toolbar, located on the lower- side of your windows 8 desktop.

Step #2:

Access the start menu on your computer and click on control panel.

Step #3:

As usual, click on printers and faxes or printing devices, the same tools you have to click on former windows versions.

Step #4:

Now, click on advanced options.

Step #5:

Open printing configurations and click on next.

Step #6:

You can now click on the Add Local or Wireless Printer option, while having the installation manual at hand. Click on next until you reach a listing that contains printer data. Please select your own printer’s brand and model from the lists to continue with this installation process.

Step #7:

Then, select the printer of your choosing. The list will include multiple printer brands, series and models, so please locate yours. If you can’t find it on here, update your drivers.

If your printer still doesn’t show up, please go to the printer’s brand website and look for the set of drivers that is compatible with your printer and OS. These websites usually have all these files available for download, which you can later modify according to your own needs.

How to install a printer on windows7 OS

Installing a printer on windows 7 can be very easy due to this particular operating system’s interface and the tools that come with it. Also, most modern printers install themselves automatically on our computers as soon as we attach them to it using a USB cable, and are constantly updating and backing up their drivers. This, however, isn’t featured in every printer.

Anyway, it all depends on the kind of printer we want to set up, and on whether it’s made for domestic or business use. On this post, we will try to offer a general printer installation process for windows7 OS.

We recommend you keep your printer’s user manual at hand, since the manufactures may have included some important information about the installation process in several different operating systems.

Procedure for installing a printer on windows7:

This post will show you how to install a local printer, which is the most common way of doing it. If you need to install it using a wifi network, please read our post How to install printers using a wifi network.

One of this printer’s main advantages is that it will install automatically as soon as you connect it to your computer using a USB cable.

If you want to install your printer using some other port, we recommend you do this manually. Look around our blog for additional information.

Step #1:
First of all, go to the start menu on your computer and click on printing devices. Please take a look at the following picture.

Step #2:
Click on the add printer option, which can be found on the upper-left side of the printing devices window. See the next picture for details.

Step #3:
An installation wizard will now show up on your computer screen to help you install a local or wireless printer. Click on Add Local Printer.

Step #4:
windows 7 will now recommend a USB port you can connect your printer on. make sure you’re using this exact port, or change the printer’s USB cable to the appropriate one. Now, click on next.

Step #5:
Please select your printer’s brand and series on the upcoming listing. If you don’t know the series number or your computer doesn’t have one, just choose the printer model after selecting the brand.

If your printer doesn’t appear on the list, click on windows Update to have the listing updated.

Step #6:
If the drivers don’t show up during the updating process but you still have the original drivers CD, please insert it in the computer and browse this folder. Open the file with the drivers and continue with the installation process.

Please continue with the drivers’ installation process and click on Finish once it’s completely done. Your drivers will now be installed and your printer will be ready to use.

How to install a printer on mac OS

Mac computers are usually very printer-friendly, since they install them automatically each time a printer is connected to them. In principle, you’d only to attach the printer’s USB cable to a free USB port in your mac computer and it would do the rest.

Afterwards, when we want to print a document, we will only have to click on the Print option and the printer will be installed in our computer automatically.

This, of course, is the best case scenario. When things don’t go down this road, you’ll have to install your printer’s drivers by following the steps described ahead. If this is the case, you must add the printer through the printing and fax preferences menu on your computer.

You will need:
The set of drivers compatible with your operating system, which you can find in the support area of the developer’s own website. They will give you any set of drivers you need, regardless of your printer’s brand or model. All the drivers found in this website will be compatible with your own OS.

Instructions for installing a printer on mac OS:

Step #1:
Turn your mac computer on and let it finish the entire initialization process. Please wait all the necessary time to make sure everything will work out.
Now that the printer’s up and running, please insert the drivers installation CD in your computer to start the installation process. If your computer can’t recognize it or read the files inside, open the CD folder in your computer, click on drivers and select the ones compatible with mac OS.

Step #2:
Please check the printer’s original packaging for any quick start manual. This will teach you how to get your printer going for the first time and help you make secure and reliable connections.

Step #3:
You can now turn the printer on my pressing the on/off button.

Look around your desktop for the CD shortcut icon. The printer’s drivers will be inside this folder.

Step #5:
Double-click on the icon to start the installation process. If you have the CD, it will be inside this folder on your computer. If you’ve downloaded the drivers, please follow the instructions given to you by the program.

Open the system preference program on your mac computer. It can be located in the macintosh applications folder.

Click on the icon called printers and faxes; mac has a folder for all these imaging devices, just like windows. Here, you will be able to configure anything you want, such as setting up a default printer on your computer.

You can now configure this printer as much as you want. From this step forward, we will show you how an installed printer looks on mac OS.

Step #8:
You will need to add this printer on your computer, even if we’ve already installed ours in this post. Please click on the plus (+) option to continue this procedure, and click on next every time you need to.

You will need to read the information provided with much care and attention to avoid future inconveniences.

Click on the available printer listing and select the printer you want to install on this computer. You can now click on add printer. Remember to read all the information carefully to stay away of printing problems. Everything’s now ready to start printing.

How to install printers when lacking the original drivers CD

Getting a printer from a friend, a garage sale, as a gift at the office, or even restoring our entire computer can put us in a difficult position if we lack the original drivers CD that comes with the printer. These situations are very common and we may find ourselves without any drivers for our printers.

Not having the official installation process doesn’t have to be a problem if you follow the steps described ahead. Please stick to them and repeat them on your own printer.

Procedure for installing a printer on your computer when lacking the original drivers CD:

Step #1:
Keep the printer attached to the computer via USB cable at all times. This particular cable is in charge of passing the necessary data from the computer to the printer in order to get the printing process started. It will look similar to the one shown in the next picture.

Don’t worry about finding this cable: it’s very popular and can be found at any printer or computer store for a very low price. You must only ask for a printer USB cable.

Step #2:
Turn the computer on and wait for it to be fully functional; it needs to be fully operational to recognize a new device has been attached to it You can now turn your printer on.

Step #3:
Open the Start menu on your computer and click on the Control Panel.

Step #4:
You can now click on Printers and Faxes, or Printing Devices.

Step #5:
You cann now click on Add Printer. Important note: The Add Printer option on Widnows7 is found in the upper-left side of the window, as shown in the following picture. On WindowsXP, you can find it on the top of the left column.

Step #6:
The printer wizard will get going, and you must keep clicking on Next. Please let the computer recognize your printer using the Plug and Play system.

Note: The Plug and Play program will automatically run on Windows7. You will only need to click on the Add Printer option and it will detect the printing device automatically.

Here’s a picture of how this may look like on your Windows7-using computer. This program will detect every printer available for installation, and get your computer working on this immediately.

If this doesn’t happen, please select the printer you want to install. You can always use the “What can I do?” option on Windows help if your computer isn’t recognizing the printer.

Step #7:
Ig the printer hasn’t been recognized by the computer yet, look for the USB port the printer’s cable is attached to and select it as your conexion method. If you’re not using a modern printer model, there’s another installation process compatible with Windows7 and WindowsXP. This procedure will force you to choose your  printer’s brand and model from a listing displayed on screen.

Step #8:
Select your own printer brand and model from the listing that will appear on screen, click on next and follow all the steps of the procedure. If this method doesn’t work properly, please download the drivers directly from the printer manufacturer’s website. You will be able to install the drivers once you’ve extracted the files in the zipped folder.

How to set your printer drivers up if the regular installation doesn’t work out for you

Installing a printer and receiving a missing file message can be very annoying. The installer is supposed to have all the files you need! While this is actually true, this problem tends to occur solely on discontinued printers that are being installed in Windows7, or when a more modern printer model is being set up in WindowsXP.

However, there’s a solution for everything and we are happy to provide it to you. So far, this one has worked the best and has made the installation process less troublesome. Of course, this will also fix your problem for you.

In this case, we recommend you download the drivers compatible with WindowsXP, even if you work with Windows7 on your computer. The WindowsXP drivers are more complete and will simplify things for you, while the Windows7 ones will remove certain add-ons you may or may not need. WindowsXP drivers will hold everything in and some other stuff as well.

The next step is, of course, downloading the drivers. This can be done as easily as downloading any document and saving it in our computer or device. Always keep in mind where you saved it, so you can decompress it later.

In this moment, we recommend you download the basic drivers, which may be called Basic Feature Software, as shown in the picture; if only one set of drivers appears, then your printers only works with these. We suggest you use this set of drivers to avoid installing unnecessary add-ons attached to the full version, such as page detection.

This specific one can become a problem when printing with refilled ink cartridges, as well as some other additions that come with this set of drivers. This is just my personal opinion.

We also suggest you save this file on your Dashboard so you can reach it and start the decompression process easily. You can save the decompressed file in the same Dashboard to be able to find it and update the drivers in the same location.

Decompressing the file:

This a very simple but important process to execute. As you can see in the picture, all you need to do is right-click on the downloaded drivers and decompress or extract the files to another folder with the exact same name. This one must be saved in our computer’s Dashboard.

After extracting the document, we will have two different folders that will look like this on our Dashboard.

Once we’ve located the extracted folder, we should search our drivers for Computer Properties. Click on this option and then select the link located on the upper.ñeft part of the emerging window, called Device Manager. Do excuse the arrow, I’m just a tech and don’t have much skill in Design.

Our printer must show up on Imaging Devices, showing an alert sign that indicated it hasn’t been installed yet. Since my printer has already been installed, I’ll go ahead and show you how to update the drivers on the appearing scanner.

We will now update the driver:

Now we will have two different options to search for the drivers. Supposedly, we’ve already search for them online and haven’t been able to find them, so we must search our own device in the same place where we extracted the files.

Look for the drivers in our computers:

All we have to do now is look for the folder exactly where we left it on the Dashboard, it’s a very easy thing to do. The picture below will show you how to do it.

Just click on Accept and then on Next; a search process should start automatically and be able to find them. The program executer should be able to find it quickly since they’re within reach, and everything will be up and running.
