Getting rid of paper jams in Canon printers

Canon printers are great devices which are used all over the world currently. Someone has stated they’re specially good for Continuous Ink Systems, but I happen to disagree with this. However, people choose to use these printers more and more often, even when this generation, as well as the previous ones, have exactly the same issue.

This is not a problem per se, but more of a quality that tends to compromise their functioning. These printers are prone both to paper jams and to paper feeding issues.

This condition tends to repeat itself in every printer where paper sheets are fed from the top, such as the HP Deskjet 1000 series and most Canon Inkjet printers.

As you can see in this picture, the upper paper tray is being marked by arrows, meaning this is the exact site where sheets are fed to the printer when the printing process starts.

This paper tray’s vulnerability comes to mind immediately, making us think of how easily any foreign object, or even an insect, can enter the printer through it. This is a very open section and we’ve found everything from pencils to bugs in it, so we imagine anything can enter the printer without us knowing.

The solution is fairly simple: we must only look for a piece of cardboard and use it as it were a regular paper sheet. We could also use an actual paper sheet that has been folded multiple times to do this.

This process will help us realize if there’s any obstacle in the way of the paper sheets, and extract it very carefully. Always remember to remove any residue that may be in this location.

This post is based on the information we’ve compiled in our workshop, where we’ve dealt with similar cases. This is but one solution to this problem, and we suggest you execute every step just as was described in this post. Solving the 5200 error message on Canon printers

This post deals with solving 5200 error code on Canon printers, which may appear after restoring your printer many times. This will be pretty easy.

Once this error message appears, you can try to restore your ink cartridges as many times as you want and get no results whatsoever. This is why we suggest a different sort of rebooting process, focusing on restoring the printer instead of the cartridges.

The steps to solving 5200 error code on Canon printers are the following:

1. Disconnect your printer’s power cord without disconnecting the printer from the PC.
2. Open the printer’s gate.
3. Press the On/Off button for about 5 to 10 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back in the printer while still pressing the On/Off button.
5. Use a pen to press the button that indicates the printer gate’s closed for about ten seconds. Do not let go of the On/Off key. 
6. Release the On/Off button and close the printer’s gate.
7. Once it’s been closed, turn the printer on.

This procedure should get rid of the 5200 error message on your Canon printer right away. However, if the problem persists, try restarting the ink cartridges manually one more time.

The ink cartridge carriage is stuck

When our printers show this stuck carriage problem or we’re able to see they’re not moving properly from one side to the other, maybe even notice some sort of obstacle in the way, we recommend you follow this secure procedure.

First of all, you must turn the printer off and unplug the power cord, as well as any other cable that is attached to it at the moment.

You must now check the printer by opening the ink cartridge gate:

If you’re able to detect any foreign object that’s in the way of the carriage, remove it from the printer as delicately as possible. You can then turn the printer back on and check the cartridge carriages are moving freely, and that no error message appears on the printer’s screen.

If the problem persists, continue to open a new gate located in the back of your printer, as is shown in the picture.

This will help you see any paper sheet or part of it that’s compromising your printer’s proper functioning. Remove this piece of paper delicately to harming the printer, and put the lid back where you took it from.

Please check your printer’s functioning once more

If you haven’t been able to solve this problem, you must also know improper cartridge placement could also be the cause. You can then proceed to remove them slowly; please visit the printer's manufacturer website or check the instructions manual for the correct placing of the cartridges. Follow the steps indicated, check as many times as you must and print a test sheet you rid yourself of doubt.

I’m putting my refilled cartridges back in the printer and the On/Off button keeps blinking

This post deals with a frequent issue that appears when we refill cartridges, put them back in the printers and the On/Off button blinks.

This is a very common scenario and, regrettably, bad news. This happening means the printer has stopped recognizing the cartridges, and that only happens when the ink cartridge is damaged.

But the truth is that, if the On/Off button blinks, either the print cartridge contacts or the printer connectors are dirty.

Here we have the print cartridge connectors. Remember to clean them with wet toilet paper, preferably.

Cleaning the printer or the print cartridge connectors:

1. The solution to this small problem with the dirty connectors is to clean them, whether they’re the printer connectors or the print cartridge ones. We recommend you clean them with wet paper napkins or toilet paper. With this, all you’re doing is allowing the contacts to finish their own work, and the ink cartridges to finish the pending process of transmitting the heat from the printer towards them.

In case this first process doesn’t work:

1. Unfortunately, there is no alternate solution in this case. It seems the ink cartridge has been completely worn out. The only possible fix is replacing the damaged cartridge for another one, whether you use a new one or a used cartridge. This damage occurs when the ink cartridges aren’t able to heat the glycerin in the ink in order to make it expand throughout the sheet of paper. When the printer starts heating the head prints up and the ink cartridges are empty, the heat burns them and the circuits are damaged in the process. This is what causes the On/Off button to blink.

Solving the P02 error message in Canon MP250 printers

This problem tends to show up in our printers very frequently when we’ve stopped using it for a while, or even when we use it very little and keep it saved and stored for most of the time, jamming the cartridge rail. You can also read up on Canon codes and errors i this post; we recommend you use the Ctrl+F shortcut to search the entire entry.

Error message P-02 specifically means an error has occured transporting the cartridge carriage, which may be caused by any foreign object found in said rail: pieces of wrinkled paper, paper clips, plastic residues of some broken gear, among others.

Lack of lubrication and cleaning of the main axis, which could also be filled with paper fuzz, dust and remains of old lubricant, could also compromise the carriage’s free transit.


If you’ve installed a Continuous Ink System on this printer, then the error may have been caused by the system’s hoses: they could be in the way of the carriage, obstructing it or not allowing it to reach its final goal. In this case, all you have to do is adjust their length, making the hoses longer and allowing the carriage to move wherever it must.

You must take a good look and make sure you’ve gotten rid of whatever the cause may be

Turn the multifunctional printer on.

1. Press the Menu button.

2. Press SCAN + COPY + SCAN to access your printer’s Service Mode.

3. Touch the + key until you’ve reached NVRAM ACCESS.

4. Once you’re there, press OK.

5. Using the + or - keys, locate yourself in Set ABS-M Level and choose OK.

6. Lower the number shown all the way down to 0. Press OK once this has been done.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 in Set ABS-P Level and hit OK once more.

8. Press the STOP button to exit Service Mode.

Turn the printer off and back again, and it’ll be ready.

As you can tell, this is an ink and toner cartridge refill blog, so we already know you can successfully refill both Canon CL-211 Colored and CL-210 Black Ink cartridges.
These ink cartridges are very easy to refill once you’ve identified where to add the ink, but can have some problems doing it with the page counter software installed along with your printer’s drivers.

This page counter is a program that keeps track of the amount of pages printed with every ink cartridge you’ve placed inside your printer. It doesn’t actually know how much ink is left inside it, but how many sheets it has produced in one particular moment. It will tell the printer the ink cartridge has ran out once it’s reached the set amount of pages it was made to print.

Restoring your printer will only delete this record so the ink cartridge is recognized as if it were new. Keep in mind this error message will reappear after this ink cartridge prints its page limit and you will have to restore your printer one more time.

This restoring procedure works on the following error messages: E 1.6 error / E 0.4 error / E 0.5 error / P07 error / E5 error.

When we refill our printer’s toner, we save a ton of money in comparison to the amount we’d spend buying a brand new one. However, this doesn’t work all the time, since not all companies use the same system for their toners.

Some printers, as you may already know, insert chips that can keep count of the amount of pages printed with the original toner, so it stops printing at all once the powder runs out. Errors will start appearing constantly when printing.

This is the story, now we’ll show you the solution.

If you wish to restore your Brother MFC 7820N printer/copier but no longer get the Toner End of Life error message, follow the next instructions:

1. Open the frontal lid on your MFC 7820N, the gate that will allow you to remove the toner and the drum do not remove the cylinder/toner from the device. 
2. Press the Options menu down. You will find it on the left side of the printer/copier’s control panel.
3. Type *00 in the keyboard.

The Brother MFC 7820N counter must go back to zero (0) and the Toner End of Life message must stop appearing after this.

Warning: This may void the printer’s warranty, and could certainly damage the device if you choose to refill or even use your toner cartridge again. I image you already know this. We hope this post was of help for you.

Solving the error for P08 Canon® printers

This error is very common in Canon printers and if you are seeing this type of error we recommend making sure you know the amount of ink that the cartridge has as it can be damaging if the ink is not refilled at the right time.

This is the code that indicates that the printer or the cartridges are becoming over heated, as we know the ink’s two most important functions are to print and the other to cool the temperature of the heads which are heated in order to make the glycerin disperse which is what makes it produce so much ink.

The solution to this problem is to refill the cartridges and take advantage to clean the connectors of both the printer and the cartridge before putting them back together.

How to solve the problem of flickering light in the Epson LX- 300+ II

This problem usually happens during the printing of bills and outlets, when the lights blink for a paper jam and it appears that the light is very dim i.e. lacking electricity, once this happened to a printer and it was solved when they found out that the Board of this printer was completely filled with water and had sulfurized.

What we have to do is find an air heater, a blower, or simply use the sun after washing this piece using a toothbrush with water and detergent, we have to remove all of the sulfur well that has attracted the water and rinse the water clean, then we have to heat it or just put it in the sun in the warmest place until it no longer has any water.
