How to print from an android mobile device

This particular tool is very important for us users, since it allows us to print directly from mobile devices such as an android cell phone and/or tablet. Keep in mind you will need a working Internet connection or data plan on your phone or device.

You can now be able to print a document in your phone or tablet wirelessly, as long as you have access to a wifi network close to you.

In our previous post called How to print from an iPhone, we already explained how useful and necessary this cool can be in our phones. Once you’ve configured your router and installed a printer in a wifi network, you should be able to print using this same media.

However, this doesn’t really work on android phones and devices, so we will show you how to install a specific program on your computer, which will communicate with your phone and have your printer produce any print, document or picture, you want to have done.

For this, you will need:

1. The browser Google Chrome installed on your computer.
2. A working Internet connection on your phone and computer.

Procedure to print from android mobile devices:

Step #1:
Please keep your computer and printer on at all times. If they’re not on and fully functional, get them on and wait or them to be fully functional, or the program won’t be able to run on your computer and have the documents you want printed on time. The printer should also be connected to your computer via USB cable or Wireless network.

After all this, please read all the information shown during the installation of the following program: Google Cloud Printer. Click on this link to download and install this program on your computer.

Step #2:
You will need to install Google Cloud Printer in your computer, an application that will detect any files you send to it from your phone or tablet, and want to have printed immediately.

You can also install this program and use it on phones and tablets made by another brand, or even create a wireless printing network with it.

Step #3:
You can now install Google Chrome on your mac or windows computer, just in case you haven’t done this already. If you’re working with windowsXP, please install Microsoft XML Paper Specification Essentials Pack as well. Google Chrome and Google Cloud Printer will work together and act as the link joining your printer and Google device.

Step #4:
After installing and configuring Google Chrome properly, configure it to recognize the Google Cloud Printer app and work with it. Please follow the following steps:

1. Open Google Chrome.
2. Click on Google Chrome’s menu, located on the navigation bar.
3. Select the configuration option.
4. Click on Show advanced settings.
5. Scroll all the way to the Google Cloud Print section and click on add printers.
6. Log into your Google account if the program asks you to do it.

You will now be able to make your printer work directly from your phone or any other android mobile device. Keep in mind you will also need to install Google Cloud Printer on your phone or tablet.

Note:
Today, 10/16/2012, this app is only available in the US, but it should be running all around the work very soon according to Google. We will use this same post to let you know when it’s available for Latin America.

Please take into account something could still go wrong, even if you follow this procedure to the letter. If this is the case, leave a comment in the section below this post and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
