How to install a page counter on my printer

This post will teach you how to install a page counter program on your computer and keep track of all printing jobs.

This is a great program when it comes to counting the exact amount of pages our printer is, in fact, printing. Keeping this record will allow us to analyze our ink cartridges’ yield and payup.

Quite frankly, knowing how many pages are coming out of our printer is the best thing that could happen to us, especially if we own businesses in which we need to need to know the exact quantity of pages being printed in it.

This program is extremely easy to install and use, since the information can be stored in a single document of your choosing, even in a hidden folder that can only be located and accessed by the administrator. The program is also free and works really well.

Click here to download the program

You must only click on the lick and it will redirect you to the program’s official website, where you will need to choose your Operating System before proceeding with the installation and usage of the actual product.

There are documents in queue but nothing’s being printed

This post will deal with this problem, which tends to appear on relatively new printers. It’s a matter of connection and can be easily solved. However, it comes with a price: if your printer shows this linking issue, you must only change the USB cable.

This is the cable you will need to replace.
This is clearly related to the cable’s own age. If the problem persists, we recommend you clean the printer’s connection post thoroughly with a toothbrush, the small orifice shown ahead.

Solving the E7 error, subcode E7-11, on Sharp AL-2030 copiers

This post will teach you all to need to know about eradicating the E7-11 error message on Sharp AL-2030 copiers in four easy steps.

Even when this is the best copier out there at the moment, it can also have its own problems. The way you use a device can compromise its functioning and payoff; in this case, not using this article and leaving it saved somewhere for a long while can have the same effect on the copier.

We looked this error up in the Sharp Trouble Error & Codes manual, where we found a solution for this same issue. It’s very important you identify the error subcode on your Sharp copier since, as you can see, there are multiple errors inside the E7 error message column. While these depend on it, each code is related to one function, one problem and one solution for it.

Steps to follow to eradicate this issue:

According to the manual, this error originates in the scanner’s lamp, or in the scanner’s roller, which could be jammed.

Step 1.

Clean the scanner’s lamp as softly as possible, keeping it from harm; it’s a very delicate bulb, so keep this in mind. We suggest you use paper napkins for this, and a small vacuum or blow dryer to clean out all paper residues that may be found inside it. If anything is left inside the lamp, it will appear on every single copy you may produce.

Step 2:

Grease up the scanner’s roller located in the scanning sector; it will allow it to move from one side to the other.

Step 3:

After this procedure has been  finished, turn the scanner on. It will show the F5 error message, which indicates the crystal is now loose. This is okay since we’re actually working inside the scanner. In case you don’t want this error message to appear, simply place the crystal back on the scanner. We, however, recommend you put this off if the E7 error persists.

Step 4.

Finish everything up and place every piece back where it came from before proceeding to test the device. Every issue must have cleared up by now.

This post shows only one solution to this problem, which doesn’t mean this is the one and only fix. If you know of any other one, please post it in a comment in the section below this post.

Solving the P02 error message in Canon MP250 printers

This problem tends to show up in our printers very frequently when we’ve stopped using it for a while, or even when we use it very little and keep it saved and stored for most of the time, jamming the cartridge rail. You can also read up on Canon codes and errors i this post; we recommend you use the Ctrl+F shortcut to search the entire entry.

Error message P-02 specifically means an error has occured transporting the cartridge carriage, which may be caused by any foreign object found in said rail: pieces of wrinkled paper, paper clips, plastic residues of some broken gear, among others.

Lack of lubrication and cleaning of the main axis, which could also be filled with paper fuzz, dust and remains of old lubricant, could also compromise the carriage’s free transit.

If you’ve installed a Continuous Ink System on this printer, then the error may have been caused by the system’s hoses: they could be in the way of the carriage, obstructing it or not allowing it to reach its final goal. In this case, all you have to do is adjust their length, making the hoses longer and allowing the carriage to move wherever it must.

You must take a good look and make sure you’ve gotten rid of whatever the cause may be

Restore your Hp Deskjet F4480 printer with HP 60 ink cartridges

Learn how to restore your HP Deskjet F4480 printer by following our quick three-step tutorial.

This post will deal with restoring the HP Deskjet F4480 printer, which stopped recognizing the ink cartridges from the moment they were refilled. Also, both the On/Off and the ink cartridge indicators have been blinking for a while. This process will take a bit of patience and a few blank sheets in the paper tray.

You may also be interested in learning how to align your HP 60 ink cartridges inside the printer. Click on the previous link to perform this alignment, which is completely up to you.

Now the actual restoring process for the HP Deskjet F44480 printer can start.

Step 1.

Turn the printer and wait for it to be fully functional: it must finish cleaning the ink cartridges and setting them in place. The LED indicators will, of course, continue to blink.

Step 2.

Press the On/Off down and, without letting it go, press the Cancel button, which can be found a little bit down the road from the first one: a red button with a cross drawn on it.

You must keep going for about 30 seconds, since we’re restoring the printer back to its original factory settings. This will occur after this entire process is finished.

Note: The printer will print a test sheet using it’s proper system, so you won’t need to connect the printer back to the computer for this particular case.

Step 3.

Now we can print a document directly from our computer; keep in mind the former buttons will still blink. However, the ink cartridge indicator will stop doing it, and they will print perfectly.

In case none of these procedures work out as you expected them to, you can take a look at our post created to restore HP 60 Black and Tricolor ink cartridges using duct tape.

Please keep in mind this post is based on our own experience at our printer repair workshop. If you happen to have another solution for this problem, we suggest you post it in a comment or send it to us so we can publish it on this blog.

How to reset your Canon Pixma MP280 printer

Canon Pixma MP280 printers can be very cheap, and they have become quite famous nowadays due to the easy installation of Continuous Ink Systems on them, and their high print quality. Overall functioning is another important factor, since this model copies, scans and prints. These are everyday functions that are performed in offices and homes on a daily basis.

Keep in mind this printer was made for domestic use, so please don’t much too much strain on it.

As you can tell, this is an ink and toner cartridge refill blog, so we already know you can successfully refill both Canon CL-211 Colored and CL-210 Black Ink cartridges.
These ink cartridges are very easy to refill once you’ve identified where to add the ink, but can have some problems doing it with the page counter software installed along with your printer’s drivers.

This page counter is a program that keeps track of the amount of pages printed with every ink cartridge you’ve placed inside your printer. It doesn’t actually know how much ink is left inside it, but how many sheets it has produced in one particular moment. It will tell the printer the ink cartridge has ran out once it’s reached the set amount of pages it was made to print.

Restoring your printer will only delete this record so the ink cartridge is recognized as if it were new. Keep in mind this error message will reappear after this ink cartridge prints its page limit and you will have to restore your printer one more time.

This restoring procedure works on the following error messages: E 1.6 error / E 0.4 error / E 0.5 error / P07 error / E5 error.

After pressing this button for 15 seconds as indicated, the printer will start a process similar to the printing one. This should take about 15 seconds as well. Once it’s done, the printer should stop blinking and showing any and all of the error messages we mentioned before.

How to refill Canon 210 and 210XL ink cartridges

This post will teach you how to refill your own Canon 210 and 210XL ink cartridges and make them last even longer.

It’s a known fact that these ink cartridges have lasted the longest in Canon printers, and have also been chosen by two printer generations: the PIXMA and MP series. In all honesty, they are great ink cartridges with high print quality, which I believe has a lot to do with the fact that they’re manufactured in Japan.

Japan’s a country we’ve all come to know for their product quality, a factor that could be related to the very elevated prices these ink cartridges run for. This has led many people to consider refilling their Canon 210 and 210XL ink cartridges.

Further down below, you will find every instruction you must follow in order to refill these ink cartridges, and several suggestions just in case any inconvenience should arise after the refill process has been completed.

Instructions to refill Canon 210 and 210XL Black ink cartridges:

1. The most important thing you must do before refilling an ink cartridge is placing it on a surface that can take an ink spill.

However, due to their high manufacturing quality,  these ink cartridges don’t seem capable of causing an ink spill: the ink cannot escape the cartridge even if it has been overfilled. We do recommend you place it on a napkin or piece of cloth, preferably a black one.
2. Remove the upper label on every single ink cartridge. We do recommend you take it off completely rather than leaving it one, as many other people do. By moving them in this manner, we gain control over the ink cartridge and can leave it exactly as it was when it left the factory.

3. Now you must look out for a small orifice that will allow air to enter the ink cartridge and contribute to the printing process. We suggest you introduce the syringe’s needle through this same hole; if this is not possible, try piercing it. However, we’d prefer it if you didn’t drill it unless absolutely necessary. This is what drilling looks like.

4. Fill the syringe up with 15ml of ink, the proper amount of ink you will need to inject into the ink cartridge. Please keep in mind this is all the ink you’re supposed to use, and that adding more than this is completely unnecessary.

To find out the exact amount of ink your ink cartridge uses, take a look at our post Page yield, or how many pages you can print out of your ink cartridges.

5. Very slowly, inject the entire amount of ink through the orifice. This ink cartridge may start releasing a bit of ink from the bottom, near the ink head. It’s okay if this happens, it’s perfectly normal and you don’t need to be surprised if it actually happens. This is why we suggested you kept a napkin or piece of cloth around.

6. You can now place the labels back on the ink cartridges, trying to put them exactly as they were before. We recommend you have the printer execute a cleaning process by printing test sheets, just to make sure everything’s working out properly.

We also suggest you leave the ink cartridge inside the printer for about 8 hours, allowing the ink to flow through and saturate the entire printer.

7. After refilling this kind of ink cartridge, the printer may need to be restored every single time they’re removed from it. In this case, we suggest you reset them.Right now we’re working with a restoring procedure that may not suit your actual printer model, but that is compatible with your ink cartridge type:
