How to reset the page counter on canon pixma MP190 printers

The canon pixma mp190 printers are multifunction models created for home and small business use. They have good overall functioning and they’re very compat. Also, this device can scan, copy and print.

The canon fine ink cartridges this printer works with contribute to this good functioning, which also work well with continuous ink systems due to the large amounts of ink they hold and the lack of an inner sponge that could bleed on the print heads.

The great photo printing quality you can achieve with this printer stands behind these cartridges. On the internet, we’ve been able to reach a solution for restoring the page counter on these, and have come up with several different methods described ahead.

If you can’t reach a solution with any of the following procedures, please contact us so we can help you. You can contact us by posting a comment in the section below this post. To learn how to subscribe and get direct emails, please visit our post how to contact us.

You should try all the procedures described ahead, and check which works the best for you before restoring the page counter. This reset procedure was made for the canon mp198, but can also work on this printer.

You could also restore the page counter without running this program, and your printer could become unlocked without using it. Here’s the link to download the restoring program for canon pixma mp190 and mp198 printers.

First possible solution for restoring the page counter on canon pixma 190 printers:

Step #1:
Turn the printer on. You usually have to connect the device and press the on/off button on it to get it running, which you can locate on the upper part of the printer.

Step #2:
Access service mode on your canon printer. Take a look at the following procedure to set your printer in service mode:

  • Settings
  • Scanner
  • Copy
  • Scanner

Step #3:
Select number 8, where you’ll be able to locate the test mode option.

Step #4:
Select 3, where eeprom clear appears.

Step #5:
Now select 0 on the ink count option to restore the ink counter.

Step #6:
Press the set button on your printer.

Step #7:
Finally, press the stop/reset button. This is the red button you use to cancel documents. This will take you back to step #3, and you will have to turn your printer off and on again.

If this isn’t the solution you were looking for, please post a comment in the section below this post so we can improve upon this post. Now we will described another procedure we’ve stumbled upon on different websites, which you can use as a second alternative to this problem.

1. Enter service mode on your canon printer.
You can do this by executing the following procedure and pressing these buttons on your printer’s panel: menu - copy - scanner - copy - copy. This will set your printer in this particular mode.

2. Select the test mode option.
Once you’re in any printer’s service mode, all these options will be in English. Unfortunately, you can’t alter the language on service mode, since the manufacturers leave this as the default language.

3. In test mode, select printer test or #8.
4. Now select eeprom clear or #3.
5. Then select ink count or #0.
6. Press the set button on your printer’s panel.
7. Now press and hold the stop/reset button on your printer for 10 seconds. Then, press the on/off button to turn your printer off. After this is done, turn your printer back on and check to see if the error persists.

If the problem continues after you’ve executed this second procedure, you may discard it completely. We’ve appreciate it very much if you could take the time to answer the form in the comment section at the end of this post, and tell us about the results you got so we can discard one or more of these possible solutions. Please take a look at the last alternative, and stick to the steps described ahead.

  1. Start this process with your printer turned off. You only need to turn it off, not disconnect the power source it’s attached to.
  2. Press the stop/reset button on the printer, and then press the button you use to turn your printer on. The stop/reset button is the one you use to cancel documents after you’ve started printing them, or to resume older printing jobs. the on/off button is used to turn the printer on.
  3. Now let go of the stop/reset button and keep the on/off button pressed down.
  4. Then press the resume button and release the on/off one.
  5. Your printer will now blink green and the restoring procedure will start.

If you can’t reach a solution with this procedure described above, please contact us by posting a comment in the section below this post. You could be interested in the canon pixma mp190 printer user manual.

How to change the toner cartridge on samsung laser monochrome printers

The amount of time a toner cartridge can be used on our computers depends entirely on what you print with it. Once a toner cartridge is empty, you will either need to refill it or buy a new one, so you must know how to remove and install toner cartridges.

In this post, we’ll try to explain how to remove and place a toner cartridge on samsung laser monochrome printers in the easiest way possible.

You must keep in mind that, even if toner cartridges are programmed to print a certain amount of pages, this will depend on how dense the pages are. For example, if you make the toner print several images, its lifespan won’t be as long and you will need to change it soon. The toner cartridge could even print a smaller amount of pages than the one it says it yields.

A bulb will always go off on laser printers when the toner cartridge has ran out. The most convenient things to do is to change it entirely. If you continue to use the cartridge after this bulb starts blinking, you could make your printer suffer.

In order to replace a toner cartridge, we recommend you work with extra precaution since the edges of the cartridge and the product itself could be at a temperature that damages our skin. As you may already know, the printing process where the toner or dust are set on paper is caused by heat, which can make the temperature of your printer rise and, like we mentioned earlier, harm your skin. We recommend you stick to the following procedure all the time.

Procedure for changing the toner cartridge in a samsung laser monochrome printer:

Step #1:

First, disconnect your printer. This will keep any electrical feed from reaching your body, so we recommend you disconnect the printer’s power cable. We also suggest you let the printer rest for about 2 minutes before plugging the power cable back into it.
disconnect the power cable
disconnect the power cable
Step #2:
You will now need to to touch the frontal gate where you can reach the toner cartridge from. Normally, you could access this area by pulling on the cover in front of us. Please take a look at the following picture.
open the front gate that will let you access the toner cartridge
open the front gate that will let you access the toner cartridge
Step #3:
Then, extract the brand new toner cartridge from it’s packaging, and remove the protective paper from the cylinder. The cylinder is the green part of the toner, which you must avoid touching with your own hands, since this can end up staining your paper sheets.

Remember to pull on the toner’s ribbon. This is a very important steps, since all toner cartridges have this ribbon which you must remove. If you leave it on the cartridge, your pages will have blurry stains on the sides. You must remove it entirely to keep it from tearing inside the toner cartridge. If you need any help with this, contact us and post a comment in the section below this post.
this is how you should remove the ribbon from your toner cartridge
this is how you should remove the ribbon from your toner cartridge
Step #4:
Shake the toner up before putting it inside the printer; this is necessary, but it’s not really mandatory. Doing this will help the toner dust spread inside the cartridge, and it will also contribute to making it adhere to the magnetic roller for proper printing. Please take a look at the following picture.
shake the toner cartridge before putting it inside
shake the toner cartridge before putting it inside

What to do if you get a bit of toner dust on your clothes or skin?

First of all, let me assure you there is nothing wrong with this, that it’s perfectly normal and that you only need to put some water on the place it landed on to keep it from sticking to it. If it landed on a piece of clothing, wash it with cold water, since hot water will make the toner dust set even more into the fabric.

Please keep the toner dust away from sunlight, since this can damage the toner cylinder or the photoconductor. Now please take a look at the next picture.

Step #5:
Put the toner cartridge on the slots located inside the printer, which is exactly where the toner cartridge should fit into. Now place the cartridge and start using it. If you have any problems with it, contact us through a comment in the section below this post.

Step #6:
Close the frontal gate where the toner goes and print at est sheets using this cartridge.

How to refill the HP 93 tricolor ink cartridge

This ink cartridge corresponds to the vivera ink generation, which was very popular in Latin America. These cartridges in particular were made for domestic and small and medium-business use, which refers to how often they should be used. Normally, these cartridges yield up to 220 pages.

After refilling them, the page yield can go down to 150 sheets, which is still a large sum if you choose to keep this ink cartridge and to invest just a little bit of time on this operation. Every color in these ink cartridges, such as yellow, cyan and magenta, must be refilled with 5ml of ink.

You must be very careful and not let yourself be led astray by the instructions printed on the cartridge’s label. The color combination on it is not the proper one. The following picture will show you the proper color placement for this procedure.

This ink cartridge is compatible with the following HP printer models: c3180; c4180; 7850; 5420v; 5440; 5440xI; 5442; 5443; d4160; 1507; 1510; 1510v; 1510xI; 6310; and 5420v. If you have any problems while refilling this ink cartridge, contact us by posting a comment in the section below this post.

Procedure to refill the HP 93 tricolor ink cartridge:

Before you start to refill an ink cartridge, we recommend you work somewhere you can clean easily afterwards, whether it’s a flat surface or a piece of wood. If you don’t have any of these at hand, you may use a piece of black cloth. You won’t be able to tell any of the ink colors you used to refill the carttidges on such a dark material.

If your ink cartridge is clogged, try unclogging it by reading the instructions in the post How to unclog my ink cartridges at home.

Step #1:
First, remove the label from the ink cartridge. As you may already know, these ink cartridges have a label on the very top, which indicates the cartridge’s ink color and number. Occasionally, people choose to remove this label and get rid of it, but we recommend you only take it off and keep it somewhere safe to place it back on the cartridge later.

This will avoid the ink from drying inside the cartridge and it will help elongate the life of the sponge inside it.

Step #2:
Fill each syringe with 5ml of ink. We recommend you only use this amount of ink. Also, we suggest you take out all the air that could be in the bottom of the syringe to avoid adding any of it to the ink cartridges. Please take a look at the following picture.
syringe to refill ink cartridges
syringe to refill ink cartridges
Step #3:
Inject the exact amount of ink we mentioned earlier very slowly into the cartridge. The ink application process should always be done as slowly as possible to help the sponge inside the cartridge to absorb all the ink. Please refer to the proper color cominimage for the HP 93 tricolor ink cartridge.
where the colors are
where the colors are
Step #4:
Once the ink cartridge has filled up completely with all the ink you added to it, we recommend you place the label back on the cartridge exactly as it was in the beginning. This label, along with the drains on the cartridge, work together in order for the ink cartridge to take the necessary amount of ink to help the ink inside it drop.

If you need any help with this, don’t hesitate in contacting us by posting a comment in the section below this post. Now put the cartridge back in the printer and print several test sheets. To learn how to do this, please visit the post how to print a test sheet from Windows.

Notes:
Please let the cartridge rest for a while before putting it back in the printer. This will allow the cartridge to soak the sponge inside it with the ink. If you want, you could also shake the cartridge, print head facing downwards, to make the ink drop even more.

If you have any problems with this ink cartridge when you install it in your printer, such as blinking and other possible errors, please execute the next steps:

  • Take the ink cartridge out and clean the contacts on it.
  • Clean the contacts on the printer exactly where they come in touch with the ones on the cartridge.
  • If this doesn’t solve the issue, then leave the cartridge outside of the printer and turn the printer off for two hours. You can put it back in the printer after this time has passed.
  • If you still can’t reach a solution, just ask us, it’s very simple. Just post a comment in the ection below this post.

How to refill the HP 92 black ink cartridge

When this ink cartridge is brand new, it can yield up to 220 pages. After refilling it, you will be able to print around 150 pages with it.

This cartridge works with pigmented ink, and you should do everything in your power to inject the same kind of ink into it. If you can’t find any pigmented ink, then you could try adding some water-based or dyed ink to it, which you can get at almost any store. This kind of ink is used to refill HP, canon and lexmark cartridges.

Please remember you should never let any ink cartridge to run out of ink completely. Doing this could help damaging the circuits on the cartridges, and once these are done the entire ink cartridge goes to waste immediately.

This ink cartridge is compatible with the following printer models:

HP deskjet 5440 photo printer; HP deskjet 5440xi photo printer; HP deskjet 5440v photo printer; HP officejet 6310v all-in-one printer; HP officejet 6310 all-in-one printer; HP officejet 6310xi all-in-one printer; HP photosmart C3135 all-in-one printer; HP photosmart C3150 all-in-one printer; HP photosmart C3140 all-in-one printer; HP photosmart C3180 all-in-one printer; HP photosmart 7850 printer; HP psc 1510xi all-in-one printer; HP psc 1510v all-in-one printer; and HP psc 1510 all-in-one printer.

We recommend you print a test sheets after refilling this ink cartridge to check how the colors are working. If you wish to learn how to do this, please visit our post How to print a test sheet..

Instructions for refilling the HP 92 black ink cartridge:

Before you begin refilling this kind of cartridge, we recommend you clean the contacts on them. This is necessary, but not really mandatory, since these cartridges have very good performance.

However, if you haven’t used them for a long time, could be some dry ink on the print heads, and that is never good. To learn how to do this, please read the post How to clean the print heads on your ink cartridge.

Step #1:
Place the cartridge on some surface that can stand an ink spill. We don’t recommend you use any white materials, since you won’t be able to remove the ink from them. Instead, we suggest you use a black material, and even a flat surface that you can clean easily afterwards.

Step #2:

You may now proceed to removing the label which indicated the cartridge number, located on the very top of it. We always recommend you remove this label before refilling the cartridge, this label is responsible for letting the necessary amount of ink into the cartridge, which will help it reach the maximum printing quality and page yield it was created for. Remove the label slowly to avoid damaging it altogether.

Step #3:
Inject the 5ml of ink very slowly into the cartridge. We need you to do it as slowly as possible to help the ink spread inside the cartridge in the best way possible, and help the inner sponge to absorb all the ink.
syringe with ink
syringe with ink
Step #4:
Once you’ve filled the cartridge with the ink, all you need to do is print a test sheet using the same cartridge. We recommend you leave the cartridge inside the printer from now on.

Even if you’ve followed the entire procedure strictly, things could still go wrong in many different ways. If this is your case, then please contact us by posting a comment in the section below this post, and we will help you put immediately.

Like we mentioned earlier, we recommend you print a test sheet after finishing the refill procedure. In order to learn how to do this, please visit our post How to print a test sheet from Windows.

If you have any problems with your ink cartridge after refilling it, such as blinking, please try out the following steps:

  • Remove the ink cartridge from the printer and clean the contacts located on it using a wet napkin.
  • You should also clean the contacts on your printer.
  • If this doesn’t solve the problem, then turn your printer off for 10 minutes and disconnect the power cord from it. You may plug the cable back and install the cartridge on the printer after this time has passed.
  • If you still can’t reach a solution, then please contact us.

How to refill the HP 88 black, cyan, magenta and yellow ink cartridges

These ink cartridges work with ink tanks, which rely on the the print head processing the ink and doing all the printing. These are very used in Latin America, since they were sold along with several different printers available in the region.

These cartridges are compatible with the following printer models:  HP officejet pro k550, K550dtn, and k550dtwn. They also come in two versions: the regular size and the extra-large one.

Depending on the size for the cartridges, you will need to apply one  a specific amount of ink.For example, regular sized ink cartridges use 10ml of ink, while the extra-large versions use 30ml of ink. These cartridges work with water-based or dyed ink, expect for the HP 88 black one in both the regular and extra-large versions.

Steps to refill the HP 88 yellow, cyan, magenta and black ink cartridges:

1. First of all, keep in mind you’ll need to use a different syringe for every color.
2. Grab a piece of cloth, preferably black, for any ink spills that may occur. You may also use a flat surface you can clean up easily afterwards.

3. Take a good look at all the ink colors to avoid injecting the wrong one into a cartridge. This would end the cartridge’s working life, since ink color damaged are very hard to repair.

Step #1:
Before starting to refill your cartridge, place the cartridge on the piece of black cloth we mentioned earlier, or on a flat surface you can clean easily.

Step #2:
This cartridge, as well as all the others that have print heads just like it, are refilled by removing the bottom part of it, which will expose the cartridge’s injector, its pump and the exact refill location. Please take a look at the next picture to learn how to remove the botton.
where tag should be removed
where tag should be removed
You must cut exactly where the red line marks. This will help divide the cartridge in two, exposing everything that’s in the bottom of it.

Step #3:
Once you’ve removed the label from the cartridge, it should look like the one depicted in the following picture, where you’ll be able to appreciate all the areas we mentioned earlier. For this step, you will also need an empty, ink-free syringe, which you’ll use to try and take a small, rubber ball out of the cartridge. It’s marked on the picture with #1.

Please do this very carefully and slowly to keep the small ball from going all the way back into the cartridge. Once you take it out, make sure you have it and do not lose it.

Step #4:
You may now proceed to filling the syringe up with the proper amount of ink. If you’re refilling a regular cartridge, apply 10 of ink. If, on the other hand, you’re using the extra-large version, you should apply 30ml of ink.

Another thing you must keep in mind is that we do not recommend you use any kind of puncturing syringes when refilling this ink cartridge. The cartridges have a thin metal sheet inside them that is as frail as parchment paper and, if punctured by the needle, it could become damaged and leave your cartridge with a permanent ink spill. This is why we suggest you only insert the tip of the syringe into the cartridge to avoid piercing it at all.

Step #5:
After this entire procedure is finished, you may place the small rubber ball back on the cartridge, which acts like a plug that keeps the ink from coming out of it. Please do this very carefully to avoid pushing the ball into the cartridge; you could have a hard time finding another one like this, and you probably couldn’t take it out of the cartridge without damaging it.

Once you’ve put the ball back on the cartridge, leave the cartridge with this orifice facing downwards, just to make sure everything’s working properly and there isn’t any ink leaking either from the injection orifice or the location you just sealed with the plug.

Step #6:
Put the lid back on the bottom of the cartridge, and let it rest with the lid facing downwards to check for any problems or ink spills one more time. If you’ve followed all these steps to the letter, your cartridge should be printing properly.

However, if things don’t go according to plans, don’t worry, we’re here to help. You only have to leave a comment in the section below this post and we will gladly help you out.
