Procedure to refill the HP 75 tricolor ink cartridge:

Before you start refilling any ink cartridge, we recommend you use a surface you can clean easily, whether it’s a flat surface or a piece of wood. If you don’t have any of those, you can use a piece of black cloth. This fabric won’t show any of the ink colors you used to refill the cartridges.

In case your ink cartridge is clogged, try unclogging it by following the instructions in the following post.

Step #1:
First, take the label off the cartridge. As you may already know, these cartridges have a label on the top side, which indicates the cartridge number and color.

Occasionally, people choose to get rid of this label, but we recommend you take it off and and keep it in a safe place to place it back on the cartridge later. This will keep the ink from drying inside the cartridge and elongate the durability of the sponge in it.

Step #2:
Fill the three syringes with 5ml of ink each. We recommend you only use this quantity on this particular cartridge. Also, we always recommend you remove all the air inside the syringes to avoid injecting it into the cartridges themselves. Please take a look at the following image.

Step #3:
Inject all the ink very slowly into the cartridge. Remember to always apply the ink as slowly as possible to help the inner sponge absorb all the ink you’re adding to it. The next picture will show you the proper color combinations on your HP tricolor ink cartridge.

Step #4:
Once you’ve filled the ink cartridge completely with the amount of ink we mentioned earlier, we recommend you place the label back on the cartridge exactly as it was in the beginning.

This label, along with the drains located on the top of the cartridge, work together in order to let the necessary amount of air enter the cartridge and make the ink drop.

If you need help, don’t hesitate in contacting us by posting a comment in the section below this post. Finally, place the ink cartridge back in the printer and print several test sheets with it. If you wish to learn how to do this, please visit the following post.

Notes:
Let the ink cartridge rest for a few minutes before putting it back in the printer. This will allow the sponge inside the cartridge to ask up all the ink. If you want, you can also shake the cartridge, print head facing downwards, to make the ink drop even more.

In case you have any problems with the ink cartridge, such as blinking and other minor issues, please execute the following steps:

1. Remove the ink cartridge and clean the contacts on it.
2. Clean the contacts on the printer as well, exactly where they come in touch with the ones on the cartridge.
3. If this doesn’t solve the issue, leave the cartridge out of the printer and keep the printer turned off for 2 hours. You may place the cartridge back in the printer after this time has passed.
4. If you still can’t reach a solution, just ask us by posting a comment in the section below this post.
